My Home Care is deeply appreciative of our Direct Care Workers and Supervisors who continue to serve our consumers with care and consistency as this COVID-19 pandemic continues to challenge the health care delivery system throughout the country.

My Home Care is also proud to have provided various levels of emergency paid sick leave to employees who were exposed to COVID-19 on the job and had to quarantine for days or weeks. However, as of April 1, 2021, we will be discontinuing voluntary sick pay to workers who must remain in quarantine due to COVID-19 exposure or illness. With progress being made on the vaccination front and the availability of vaccines to Phase 1a workers, it is our hope that we will no longer have to face many quarantine issues.

We were happy that we were recently able to connect our home care workers with local health care providers who are administering COVID-19 vaccinations to people who are eligible for Phase 1a of the vaccine distribution. Several of our workers took advantage of the opportunity and have been successfully vaccinated now with both doses of the vaccine. Direct Care Workers who were not able to take advantage of our recent connection with these providers, should understand that they are still within the Phase 1a group reserved for health care workers and residents of long term care facilities. The Workers who are interested in obtaining the vaccine may contact their physicians or local hospital systems to learn where they might access the vaccine during this privileged phase.
